Junior Club Championships

Witney MTB will be holding their junior club championships in conjunction with Summit MTB Club Youth XC MTB Festival on Sunday 27 September at Lotts Wood, near Amersham. If you wish to compete, the entry form must be sent to the organisers by the 23rd of September. As this is a Summit event can you please let us know if you enter so our onsite representative on the day knows you’re there.

Age categories are:
Under 16
Under 14
Under 12
under 10

Under 8s are welcome to enter but we will be holding a fun competition for this age group at our next Go – Ride on the 17th October and there’s also a disabled category.

Trophies and medals will be awarded.

I hope that some of you will be able to take part and we are very grateful to Summit for allowing us to take part.

Membership fees due

Membership is now due for all Witney MTB riders old and new. Membership fees have changed this year (see the Membership page for details). Forms will be available on Saturday the 12th at the Go – Ride session.

In other news. well done to William Macke who was part of the central squad at the British school games at Newport It looked to be a fantastic event and William had a number of PB results. Full results of the games are listed on their website

And now a little detail on this weeks rides:

Saturday the 12th September

10.30 – 12.30 NEW sessions for over 16 year olds wishing to get back into cycling ( includes skills, rides out, a bit on repairs)

1pm – 3pm Go – Ride at Queens Dyke school

1pm – 3pm Over 10 years old ride out meet at Queens dyke school 1pm

Tuesday the 15th ride with Paul leaving the windrush pub at 7pm

Sunday 27th September Annual Buttercross Scout association cycle Ride meet 10am at the scout hut entry fee

4th of October sees the second Bike Blenheim – a festival of cycling from the meeting we were at last week thier are not many places left on the sportive or the Time trial. If you have a brompton why not take part they are expecting over 600 Bromptons to start off this year. We will be there doing the Go – Ride sessions, BC Managers will be doing Cycle Cross this is the first in the central region league but it is also an event where you can go and have a go. Oxford cycle workshop will be attending along with some of the Uk top bike polo teams. MAD team will be doing amazing stunts on there bikes plus of course the fab family ride around the palace ground.
