Olympic Talent Programme

In order to clearly inform as many club volunteers, coaches, riders and parents of the new Olympic Talent Programme, John Scripps is running a series of presentations at the end of November/early December. If you are a club coach, club volunteer or official, a rider aged 12 or over, or a parent of a rider, you are invited to attend one of the series of presentations (there are two in this area). This is important for anyone wishing to progress through cycling.

Monday 23rd November – Central Region – 6.45 pm to 9.45 pm. A5 Rangers Clubroom, 101 Watling Street West, Towcester, Northants, NN12 6AG (near A43/A5 junction. Parking on site & at next door community centre) (map)

Monday 7th December – Central Region – 6.45 pm to 9.45 pm. The Fitzwilliams Centre, Windsor End, Beaconsfield Old Town, Bucks, HP9 2JW (near M40 J2, tucked behind St Mary’s Church. Park on highway and walk through) (map)

Also we are putting together the January – March events list (always the worst due to the weather) if there is anything you would like us to try and do, let us know.

Bike Blenheim results & Swinley Forest

Many thanks to Michael, Paula, Tony , Howard, Suzanna and Euan who spent the whole day with Stuart and Dot at Blenheim delivering the Go-Ride program. We had 227 boys and girls participate at least once (some came back a few times so we estimate there were 700+ that went over the course) Thanks again for giving up your free time.

Well done to Suzanna who came 2nd in the under 12 girls cyclocross riding for Witney MTB and to William Macke who came 3rd in the under 16 boys ridng for Palmer park. Congratulations to both.

On Sunday 18th we’ll be running a family ride to Swinley Forest, leaving Henry Box school at 08.30am. The club calendar should be updated shortly with the new information…

Bike Blenheim 2009

4th of October sees the second Bike Blenheim– a festival of cycling. Entries for the cyclocross and brompton races are now closed (you can still turn up to spectate), but in addition the club will be there running Go-Ride sessions, Oxford cycle workshop will be attending along with some of the Uk top bike polo teams, MAD team will be doing amazing stunts on their bikes plus there’s the fab family ride around the palace grounds – which are off-limits to bikes for most of the year so don’t miss the opportunity!
